stars...

Talking about stars, suddenly I feel disgusted by the way they behave, for instance the way they dress. It is good for nothing to be a star, and I still don’t understand many of our Malay peoples are obsessed to be stars, even for a year. For youngster, stars and entertainment cannot be separated. They are spoilt with reality show programs such as Akademi Fantasia, One In A Million, LG My Starz, and Mentor, just to name a few.

The entertainment industry in Malaysia is dominated by the Malays, yes, of course, we cannot deny the fact. As a Malay, it s such a shame for me to see them arguing in front of the live show like kids. They do not retain the Malay and Islamic values in their life, although they do always say “Alhamdulillah, finally I got this award,” What is the use of the word if the way they behave is like Hollywood stars I have seen on the screen?

Some people want instant glamour, popularity, and publicity. Publishers put stars on the cover of their magazine and the publics are stunned with their appearance with lots and lots of cosmetic products. I am very sorry that I have to say these few words, although they sing like toads, they still can produce new albums, then they will say, “This album is dedicated to my loyal fans out there,” Being a star is an easy way to enjoy a luxurious life, having maids, big houses, sport cars, and put on haute couture designs from Elie Saab, or Emmanuel Ungaro. As far as I know, they never place education as their number one interest. They do not want to be drowning in books, and they never speak about education. Maybe Dr. Fazley is good enough to be an ambassador for Besta’s electronic dictionary, but what about the others? They lead unhealthy lifestyles, for example they become addicted to drug, being drunkards or being punished because they drive over the speed limit.

An entertainment columnist from America once said, “Stars are fools,”. I assume that this is an honest perception and a strong statement to describe stars figuratively. They never plan their life carefully, they are not ready to face their ups and their downs, and they let their personal assistant or manager to deal with financial matters, as they are held back by film shooting, recording of their albums and their involvement in charity events around the city of Kuala Lumpur. When their money run out, they attempt to commit suicide by taking a lot of unknown pills, even Paraquat-the weed killer.

Their dresses influence the youngsters to put on clothes that exposing parts of their body or wearing revealing clothes, jamming at the studios and leading a social or free life. Neon colours lit up their clothes, their non-original brunette or blonde hair steals the limelight and their wedges clapped on the stage. Not to mention their tiered gowns they put on and the excess fabric that sweeps the floor. Not a good example for children. For teenagers out there, I advise you to focus more on your studies for your future. Entertainment and stars do not worth anything. It is just an instant work to build a good career and receive money to pay the cars installment, the house rent and the credits with the banks.

Perhaps Paris Hilton is right, stars are blind. Money, magazines, branded cosmetic products and fashions circulate in their life. They are forced to keep with the zero size that makes them never bother the side effects of being an anorexic. Suddenly, the penny drops. Yes, stars are blind. Popularity blinds them all.
